Grab N' Go Program

Recent statistics show that 1 in 4 children in Nova Scotia live in poverty with food insecurity as one of the 3 major challenges facing families.
(2021 Report Card and Family Poverty in Nova Scotia)

Norm O'Leary is the coordinator for the Grab n' Go School Program which currently supports two schools, Dartmouth South Academy and Ross Road Junior High, with a total enrollment of approximately 1100 students.

This food program augments the provincially-supported breakfast program by providing additional nourishment to hungry students throughout the day. We deliver once per month and 95% of public schools in Nova Scotia use this provincial program.

Every child deserves access to healthy food, so that they can reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom.
